This article explains some actions you can take to ensure that data on your device is as secure as possible. This is especially important if your devices are working in an offline mode as any lead data will be stored on your device.
Set passcodes and screen locks on your devices
If you use your device without one, you're putting any personal data at risk, such as emails, photos and banking details.
- iOS devices: Use a passcode with your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
- Android devices: Set screen lock on an Android device
Keep your devices current with security and software updates
Apple, Google and other companies will often make updates to their devices operating systems, including security patches to ensure your device remains safe. If your device is running an outdated operating system you may be putting yourself at risk; it is recommended to always keep your software up to date.
Check your version of the Integrate Events app is current
Be sure to install any updates to the Integrate Events app. You can check that your device is running the current version in the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android) - and if there are updates available, you can trigger the update there.
Alternatively, you can switch on automatic updates on your device:
Restrict device access
If your device is being used in a self-serve or kiosk environment, your Events Manager can set a requirement in the dashboard, where the user password needs to be entered in order to exit the current form. This should restrict access to app functionalities outside of the form.
To restrict access even more, you can also make use of Apple's Guided Access feature. It prevents users from leaving the app and stops them from seeing other information on the device. To learn how to switch this on, see Enabling functionality on your device.
Log out of the app
You can log out of the mobile app in the Settings menu. Read more about logging out in Downloading the Integrate Events mobile app.
| Logging-out of the app will cause any unsynced data to be lost.
You will see an in-app warning to inform of this risk. It is worth double-checking that your records have synced before you logout - read more about this in Syncing your data.
