Compatible mobile devices
iOS (Apple) devices
Devices running publicly available versions of iOS 13 or later (at this time we advise against using Beta versions of iOS).

Device and model numbers can be found on the back of the device. You can check which version of iOS you are running by going to: Settings > General > About > Version on your device.
After a period of time, iOS devices may no longer be able to update to the latest operating system. We strongly recommend using devices that will be able to support the current operating system (iOS 14) and the following, which is normally released a year later. You can see which devices are currently developed by Apple here.

we can provide assistance to update the software on your devices free of charge.
The Integrate Events mobile app can be used on an Android device running Android 10.0 or later.

Devices needed for NFC badge scanning
While many of the smartphones on the market now come with NFC technology built-in, it isn't yet ubiquitous. Most tablets don’t support NFC support yet, including iPads. You will need one of the following devices to read NFC chips:
NFC vs RFID: what’s the difference?
You can use the Integrate Events mobile app to scan NFC event badges. Sometimes the terms 'NFC' and ‘RFID’ are used interchangeably, but there are some key differences between the two:
NFC stands for Near Field Communication and is technically a type of RFID (Radio Frequency Communication).
NFC operates on a different frequency compared to other types of RFID.
NFC is great for event badges because it uses technology that is already built-in to many modern smartphones as outlined above (whereas RFID requires additional hardware to be rented).

Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I have to keep updating the latest version of the app?
We are constantly working hard to improve the app features and performance, due to the vast changes that occur we can only offer limited support for early versions of the iOS app. Please ensure to check regularly for updates in the App Store or alternatively, you can enable automatic updates.
Do I have to enable a passcode on my device?
For any iPads or iPhones being used for your event, we recommend enabling a device passcode. Using a device passcode encrypts any data present on the device and adds a level of security.
Should your device be misplaced or stolen, leaving it accessible without a code means that your data can be open to security risks. You can find out more about Apple's passcode security Policy here.
