Customize how Event lead data is exported from the dashboard in order to match the format that your systems require. There are a number of ways that you can control how data is exported, such as:
- Hide, show, reorder and rename columns.
- Find and replace values.
- Format dates and values.
- Add static values and concatenate multiple fields.

Customizing Event lead data exports
Open an Event that contains lead data. Click on Export and select Customize.
Add new columns
1. To add a new column, click the plus icon.
2. In the Column Options modal, define the new column name and what data should populate the column. See the following table for more information.
This table shows the options available when adding a new column to a data export file:

From the dropdown menu, select which question field responses will populate the new column.

Event Properties |
Event properties include automatically generated metadata (eg. lead created timestamp, device ID) and Event associated data (eg. Event Name, Start & End date). From the dropdown menu, select which event property will populate the new column.

Custom Column* |
From the dropdown menu, choose to add a static value (Single custom value) to the new column, or perform basic data processing such as concatenation, captitalization and value replacements (Multiple values).

* When Custom Column is selected, these are the available options:

Add data from multiple form fields to a new column (eg. combine multiple address fields or first and last name fields).

Substitute a whole value with another value. (eg. United Kingdom > UK or 1 > true).

Reformat all text characters to uppercase, lowercase or title case.

Join multiple values
- Select the checkbox for Join multiple values to populate this column.
- Define which character(s) should be used as the field Separator (eg. comma, space, semi-colon).
- Click the + button and choose a field from the dropdown menu. Repeat this process for all the fields you would like to concatenate.
Find & replace
- Select the Find & replace (whole field matches only) checkbox.
- Select the Match uppercase and lowercase variations (case insensitivity) checkbox to state that all matching values should be replaced, regardless of character cases.
- eg. replace the values usa, Usa and USA with United States.
- Add the values that should be replaced, and what they should be replaced with.
- Click the + button to add more find & replace rules.
Hide columns
Click the hide icon to remove a column from the export.
Edit columns
1. To make changes to an existing column, click the pencil icon.
2. In the Column Options modal, make the required changes. Depending on the column type, the edit options will change - see the following table for more information.
This table shows the options available when editing a column in the data export file:

Change the data that is included in the column. Choose from:

Determine how date/time data is exported, choose from:

Find & replace values |
Substitute a whole value with another value. (eg. United Kingdom > UK or 1 > true).

Reorder columns
Click the arrow icon and drag the column to the intended position.
Change the file type
After defining the file content, state which file type you want to export. Choose from either a .xlsx or .csv spreadsheet file.
Click Save & Export Now to download the file immediately or click Save & Go Back to save the setup.
To restore the Custom Export and remove the settings, click Reset.
