As a lead moves from a Source in the Demand Acceleration Platform and out to a Marketing Automation or CRM system, a number of checks are undertaken to validate and standardize the data. This delivers some information about the lead status in the format of a disposition.
A disposition is a data set that provides more information about the status of a lead. |
A list of possible dispositions are in the attachment at the bottom of this article.
Where the status and disposition are displayed
You can generate the following reports in the Demand Acceleration Platform to check the flow of data and status of individual leads. There are three columns to reference: Lead Status, Disposition Code and Custom Reason.
Report | Descriptions | More reading |
Leads Report | For each lead, the report contains information for status, disposition and custom reason (when applicable). | |
Source Report |
The final columns will list all dispositions included within the selected Sources, and provide a total number of leads currently categorized in that disposition. |

Lead Status
In the Status column, you'll see one of the following:
Status | Description |
Blank |
The lead flow failed due to the Demand Acceleration Platform encountering an error while attempting to validate the lead. The lead was not validated and its status is blank (it is neither accepted nor rejected).
|
Accepted |
The lead has been accepted by the Demand Acceleration Platform and is on the way to your integrated Marketing Automation or CRM system (if applicable).
|
Rejected |
The lead has been rejected by the Demand Acceleration Platform based on validation rules set.
|
Disposition Code
The disposition code is a standardized value that provides information about the reason behind a lead’s status. Some common disposition codes include:
Disposition Code | Description |
SUCCESS |
This indicates the lead has passed into the Demand Acceleration Platform with all rules validated. |
POSTOUT_SUCCESS |
If you are using an API outbound integration (ie. Marketo or Salesforce), this confirms the most recent post out status. See Monitoring Your Lead Post Outs. |
REJECT_LEAD_ |
The Demand Acceleration Platform rejected the lead because a required field is missing. |
REJECT_LEAD_ |
The deduplication rule in the Source correctly identified the lead as a duplicate and therefore the Demand Acceleration Platform rejected the lead. |
See a complete list of available Disposition Codes in the attachment.
Custom Reason
A custom reason should provide more detail about a lead status and disposition code. Some common custom reasons (and the associated disposition codes) include:
Disposition Code | Custom Reason |
REJECT_LEAD_MISSING_FIELD |
Industry field is required but missing. |
REJECT_LEAD_DUPLICATE |
Email already exists. |
For returned leads, custom reason text is uploaded by the user to provide additional information. See Updating Lead Dispositions & Uploading Returns for more information.
